Stevi Caufield Bassoonist Stevi Caufield received a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Illinois in 2002 and a Master of Music degree from the New England Conservatory of Music in 2004. Her primary teachers include Richard Svoboda, Timothy McGovern, and Roger Soren. She has played with various orchestras including the Illinois Symphony, the Louisville Orchestra, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Boston Philharmonic, and was a fellow at Tanglewood for two consecutive summers.
Stevi has worked with the Boston Public Schools as well as the New England Conservatory Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, and is now on faculty at the University of Rhode Island. She has performed at the Casals Festival, Hot Springs Music Festival, Sarasota Music Festival, and the International Double Reed Society Conference. Stevi is the bassoonist for the Cosomopolitan Trio and the Radiance Woodwind Quintet. She currently plays co-principal bassoon with the U.S. Coast Guard Band and is a substitute for many orchestras in New England including the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Rhode Island Philharmonic. |
