Instrument Petting Zoo The BSO Instrument Petting Zoo travels to schools and BSO events around the state. Play the instruments the Bangor Symphony musicians play! Violin, clarinet, trombone...it's all there! This interactive program is a great opportunity to play and hear the different sounds from the wide variety of musical instruments. Have fun discovering your musical talents. Find out when the Instrument Petting Zoo is in your area.
"BSO Musicians Unbatoned!" This MUSE lecture series helps fund education programs. Beginning September 19, five musicians from the Bangor Symphony Orchestra will give an hour-long presentation on their particular instrument and speak about their own musical history. They will give information regarding their instrument followed by a brief recital. The monthly discussion series is presented by the Bangor Symphony Orchestra at Dirigo Pines. The series is moderated by Surya Mitchell of the BSO staff.
Contact the Bangor Symphony box office to attend the discussion series or to hold one at another venue.
Making Music in a Mad World A music history lecture series. Presented by Surya Mitchell at Parker Ridge in Blue Hill. Begins February 12 and runs for five weeks.
